Louis Justman becomes LOTW Assistan Election Coordinator

Announcement

It is my pleasure to announce Louis Justman has joined the administration as Assistant Election Coordinator (AEC).

The position of AEC is something I would like to vote on perhaps in the second half of April, to confirm it as a constitutional positional that any future EC will need to find someone to fill. This allows for a degree of redundancy, and also spreads the workload of the Election Ship department, to allow for more energy to go into raising awareness of votes, analysing participation, and generally ensuring this club maintains its fine democratic tradition.

I am thankful to Louis for agreeing to this commission, and applaud Kelsey in her choosing him.

Matt Brown becomes System Lord of Goa'uld Empire

Appointment #49

Now this appointment has been a long time coming, which I'm positive that Ash will start doing a little dance once he finishes reading this.

At around the beginning of the holidays we began discussing an expansion of our Expansion Sims area (yes, I had to go there). The choice was between several different options, but ultimately it was decided that best to start off with is the exploration of the Goa'uld plot line.

After a lot of dickering, going back and forth and questions upon questions, a proposal was finally created that received the backing of the whole of Military Command.

As such, as soon as Alex Verdusco is able to create our new area, Goa'uld Empire will become our second sim in the Expansion Sims arena. The goal of the Empire is to explore this nemesis of the Stargate Universe as well as we're able. The time frame will be set just after the Tok'ra were founded. The initial beginning of this Empire will be on a planet, a home base much like our Beta Sites are currently.

Leading our bad guys on their adventure in the role of System Lord (SyL) will be Matt Brown. To allow him to this Matt will be immediately promoted to the rank of Captain with all the rights and privileges that come with such a rank.

In light of certain learning curves those of us in the MC have had in regards to establishing new areas, it has been decided that the first six months of operation, the Goa'uld Empire should be staffed by members already in SGU to give it a solid base of internal operation. Mostly folks, it's to work all the kinks out of the sim idea before we introduce new people.

At the end of the six months, the MC and the SyL will gather together to discuss the readiness of the sim to receive applicants. Once we all feel confident that the sim area will stand on its own with the current support and benefit from new people adding, we will send a request to have it become a reality, giving SGU one more area of interest for new people to jump feet first into.

Congratulations to everyone who has put in their hard work in creating this sim. It hasn't been easy, and we've had to develop our system in getting this faster. Hopefully our next expansion sim will come to fruitation faster than this one had.

Kuddos to all, and congratulations to Matt for his promotion. I'm positive that with everyone's support the Goa'uld Empire will be a wonderful sim area for us all to enjoy.

Silent Hunter becomes Argos CO

Appointment #48

This is a sad day for me on a personal note simply because of how much fun Samantha and I have had on the Argos. However, Samantha's life as it stands now doesn't give her the time she needs to come onto SGU to post as she would like. So unfortunately, Samantha has communicated to me and the rest of the MC that she will have to step down from her position as CO of the Argos.

We've known about this for some time, has had several other people within SGU. Almost immediately we began looking for someone to pick up the reigns of the ship. After discussing the situation, the members of Military Command, including Samantha, threw our support behind one individual.

He's been in SGU with us for a significant amount of time, helping out various sim areas and people along the way. Anna, his current TL, sings his praise with a loud song and gave us the thumbs up before we even had a chance to ask her. This is hardly surprising because we have found that Anna does very well with training her XO's in the art of taking the reigns of their own command.

As such, it is a pleasure and an honor to take away yet another one of her XOs to give him the reigns of the Argos. Effective immediately, Silent Hunter will be promoted to the rank of Major and will assume command of the Argos. With his promotion he will receive all the rights and privileges that comes with the rank.

Good luck Silent and congratulations!

Jessica McClary promoted to General in SGU

Appointment #47

Today we are going to honour one of this club's finest members. She has
been with the club since its inception, worked as the Operations Director
for all that time as well as serving the administration team. She made more
than a few of the graphics and MOTDs that we see within the club and she is
always willing to lend a hand to anyone, whether they are a new member or an
old one. In her time here she has also been the Commanding Officer of one of
the biggest RPE's in the club and is currently the Team Leader of SGU-1. She
offers to fill in for people when they have to go away for a while, and she
rarely complains about her workload in real life or in the club.

So no matter how much she thinks she doesn't need it we are pleased, no,
honoured to give Lt.General Jessica McClary her fourth, and final star,
elevating her to the rank of General.

Congratulations General McClary

New Public Relations Director appointment

ANNOUNCEMENT

It is my sad duty to accept Jon Stapely's withdrawal from the office of Ajjegames Public Relations Director.

However, I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Crawford Leighton to the position of PRD. Deborah first registered with AJJE in January 2007 and has become a well-liked player and well-respected CO in two clubs, leading Akers Bluff in LOTW and O66 in RTE to ever greater heights. She has held the position of Member Support Director in LOTW for a term, and is currently serving as Technical Support Director, as well as contributing to that club's administration in several other capacities.

Her experience of PR in real life and her many contributions to the site make her an ideal choice for AJJE's Public Relations Director.

Her first projects will be generating a forward plan and updating the club homepages (http://sfhq.ajjegames.com/, http://sgu.ajjegames.com/, http://leafonthewind.ajjegames.com/, and http://ridetheedge.ajjegames.com/). Once the Community Pages go live, the Support team will be drawing our initiatives together to actualise a central AJJE facility for blogging, networking, news, photos, publicity and recruitment.

The best is yet to come.

Change of LOTW Election Coordinator

Resolution #19

It was with some significant reluctance that I accepted Lyndsay Jarvis' resignation from the position of Election Coordinator, as I have so thoroughly enjoyed working with her both in this term of office and during the previous Plom administration. She is a saint, and her great contribution to the club cannot be expressed in few words.

However, I am overjoyed to appoint Kelsey Peterson to the position of Election Coordinator, effective immediately. Kelsey has been training under Lyndsay for about a month, and we intend to go forward with this good practice by adding an Assistant Election Coordinator position to the club, who she will train, but first I'd like to publicly welcome Kelsey to the team.
