Change in Military Command Composition

Appointment #48

Well, this one is a long time overdue and I'll admit that probably my reluctance came down to the simple fact of who it is dealing with. But no more, I'm taking myself by the collar and shaking out the resistance!

Sadly it has become time for Samantha Nelson to leave our happy family. Her reasons for doing so are many and focus on the situation of her life as it stands right now. It's demanding her full attention and as her best friend and Commander I can't hold it against her. This untimely departure has left an opening for a new member to join the Military Command crew and suddenly this appointment goes from sad to glad!

For the last three replacements in the Military Command crew there has been one name at the top of the list each time. She always got the first offer and sadly, until now, she has been unable to join us. Well, that has finally changed! I finally managed to bug her enough about it to get her to say yes! Something that not just myself, but Chris and Ash are both eager for as well.

Anna-Lyn Signey has been with us since the very beginning. I remember the very first time meeting her on SGU-1 when Ryan Williams was still with us. What stuck out to me the most about her wasn't just the fact that her first character, Fox MacGyver, was named after one of my favorite TV characters, but her Tok'ra character. The way she managed to weave together the symbiote/host relationship was really a joy to read.

She didn't truly start to shine though until we put her in charge of SGU-3. SGU-3 had had two previous commanders who, unfortunately, hadn't been able to coax the team into glory. Then in came Anna and not only did the team do well, Anna herself managed to find and train up terrific RPers for taking on the job of TL. Her willingness to step up and help out has been commented on as well, and even though she's quiet and keeps to herself for the most part, many of us in here are ecstatic that she's still here.

So, without further adieu and glad tidings, Anna-Lyn Signey is hereby moved into the Military Command hierarchy, taking the place of second in command due to her current rank as Full Bird Colonel. In addition she will be taking on the position of Commander of the Area for Atlantis Beta Site and I'm sure all the TLs will find her just as inspiring as RPers have on SGU-3 and now Stargate Beta HQ.
