Appointment #60
It's unfortunate really that the newly added Goa'uld Empire already needs a new RPEL (Role-Playing Environment Leader), but sometimes real life just gets in the way. Which is sadly what happened with Matt Brown, but hope is not lost! We know that the Goa'uld will continue to enslave the Universe until 2008... wait...I'll get back to you on that.
Anyway, in light of this, we had to find a new man for the job and after shifting through thousands of suitable overlords we finally settled on the only man for the job, Richard Thompson. We knew he could terrorize all the little Goa'uld's appropriately.
So it is with distinct honor, pleasure and with a smidgen of good humor, that we place Richard Thompson as the new System Lord of the Goa'uld Empire.
Congratulations Richard, Well Deserved!

Richard Thompson becomes System Lord of Goa'uld Empire
Symon Sylvester becomes Team Leader of SGU-1
Appointment #59
You know, there is a handful of people that I marvel at their fantastic role playing ability. I enjoy working with these individuals for the sheer fun of it, because not only are they able to weave together their character with the story line but they are able to almost magically transform text into something wonderful and life like.
In an even more select group are individuals who are just born leaders in my opinion. They have the gift to encourage, support and push a person just as they need to be pushed. They are the ones that lead from behind someone, the invisible person.
Then there is a third group of people that I consider to be a very close personal friend, the ones that I take into my heart and my soul, that stick with me no matter where I go. This next individual is one of them: Sy Silvester.
Many of you don't know him or at least you don't know him well, but if I was to ever suggest that you become a friend with one particular person, I would name Sy. So when I finally managed to convince him to rejoin SGU and join my team, I knew that I would want him as my 2IC. I quickly got my wish though I'm sorry that the person he replaced had been forced to leave, I was thrilled to have Sy as my right hand man again.
Well, inevitably it seems, I disappeared and Sy did what he does best, role-play with his heart, entertain the team and keep things going. He's the best there is in my opinion so when I realized the next sequence of events in my life I knew the most logical person to take my place as TL of SGU-1, that's right you guess it, Sy.
Fortunately for me, the rest of the Operations Team agreed and while I know that he'll give me grief for singing his praise like a canary I feel that it's important to show how much I consider him to be one of the best of the best in this world.
So it is my complete honor, pleasure and delight that I place Symon Silvester as the Team Leader of SGU-1 effective immediately.
Even more so I get the pleasure of promoting Symon to Major, putting him closer to his original rank when he was first in SGU as Brigadier General.
Well deserved Sy!

James McGuire receives Lion's Pride Award
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Prinz Eugen:
In its ongoing effort to recognize both superior play and meaningful contributions to LOTW sims, each Captain has been authorized to award between 5-10 sim-level recognitions to their players throughout the year. For the Prinz Eugen, the award will be called the Lion's Pride award, and I am requesting that the ribbon for this award be simply a Chinese red bar.
I am going to make our first award now, for the month of October 2009, and designate James McGuire as the recipient of the first Lion's Pride award. For his exemplary service to the ship as player and GM over a period of almost three years, I thank him and congratulate him. Well done James, and thanks!
I will now advise the VP for AJJE of the award so that we can get the award recognized and the ribbon posted.

Message Posted by Crew Hiram Voorhees PhD (Academic)
Hiram stopped digging for a moment in order to wipe the sweat from his face. He thought he should have been spending more time with the Athabasca, but now that his theory had been proven true, the excitement of the find was waning. It was now a job for cataloguers and restoration experts. And worst of all, he couldn't tell anyone of this discovery! But he had given his word to the residents of New Canaan, and he intended to keep it.
The professor's digging followed the precise lines of his training, as though it was an official archaeological project. "Anything worth doing, is worth doing well", he said to himself as he dug. At last the job was done, and he pulled himself up out of the excavation area and sat down to rest and drink some water from his canteen. "Let's see", he thought to himself outloud, "what might I have missed that could be of immediate use?" He ran through a list of things in his mind while he waited for Flash and company.

LOTW Player of the Month Awards for September and October
AWARDS
I've added a new 'topic' to Parliament's posting options, that being Awards. As many of you will no doubt recall, AJJE's founding President Alex Verdusco rolled out an award system to go live on the first October this year, and we in LOTW discussed over the summer how we would handle the thing.
After the discussion (concluding in post 2009-08-07 09:18:26), we had decided on a monthly award, to be called Player of the Month (PotM), determined by an Awards Committee consisting of the Chief Area Leader or her or his designated proxy, and the elected administration department heads or their designated proxies (the elected heads are the Parliament Leader, the Technical Support Director, the Member Support Director, and the Cortex Lounge Moderator), following nominations by the membership. Each month's award will be posted in Parliament by about the 10th of the following month.
Criterior for the PotM nominations and awards are entirely flexible - characterisation, commitment, furtherance of the storyline, considerate playing, etc.; all these factors and more can feature in our decision making process.
As the award system went live on October 1st, the LOTW Awards Committee petitioned AJJE President Jeannette Giesbrecht to be allowed to award a PotM for September, effectively to be decided by the 10th of October. She granted our request, and as such we are today in the unique position of being able to give out two awards - PotM for September, and PotM for October.
Each Player of the Month award will be worth 500 points on the AJJE Points scheme (http://www.ajjegames.com/userpoints.php). I.e., it will be possible for a single LOTW player to earn up to 6,000 points over the year on PotM awards alone (500 x 12 = 6,000).
The nominations for September are *drum roll*:
Grant Hall and Mischa Brendel.
And the nominations for October are *drum roll*:
David Un and Kevin Diamond.
All four players are assets to our club, and the Committee felt that they deserved special recognition. It would also be fair to say there were many other players in our club who are consistently above the AJJE average, but we wanted to especially recognise some outstanding folk for certain criteria through these awards.
So, without further ado... the winner for September is...
A man who stepped up to the plate when the Claudia needed him, gave up his command of the Whisper to Angus, even though he had already begun to reorganize and strengthen that sim... he took over the ailing Claudia and brought it back up into the Healthy range before month's end...
It's Mischa Brendel!
Congratulations, Mischa. *hands Mischa the first ever LOTW PotM award ribbon*
And now... the winner for October is...
A man who has played a major part in bringing the Bo to the head of the SSRs. He's a fairly new player, but has already made such an impact in sims and OOC arenae not just in LOTW but already across the network. His great play on Akers alone might well be considered worthy of a PotM award...
It's David Un!
Congratulations, David. *hands David the PotM award ribbon for October*
*Applauds*
The Awards Committee will also be looking into adding a facility to the Parliament MOTD whereby players can nominate anonymously, and we will also be considering a monthly awards ceremony hosted on the IM. This might additionally provide us with a forum for a monthly club meeting, the transcript of which would be made available here in Parliament. We welcome your thoughts and comments.
Finally, we are also considering the possibility of handing out an additional three awards at the end of each year as special recognitions for various things. These awards would also be worth 500 points each, but would not be Player of the Month awards specifically. Perhaps they could be given to the most exceptional CO, GM, and new player, or something similar?
On behalf of the LOTW Awards Committee
Ashley Leighton Plom,
Parliament Leader

Appointment 86:
As anyone familiar with the Vindicator is aware, the SSR numbers for that ship have been in terrible shape for the last few months, if not more. So it has become apparently obvious that a change in command is needed in order for the ship to succeed.
On the recommendation of the fourth fleet flag officer, and a vote by this council, I hereby appoint Silent Hunter CO of the Vindicator with the rank equivilent of Commander(I'm not quite sure how that rank will play out in the Klingon rank systems, Lt. Colonel or Major I would wager).
Congrats and good luck Silent!

LOTW Resolution #29
Resolution #29
LOTW voted on whether the Election Coordinator must appoint an Assistant Election Coordinator within 30 days of assuming office, so as to keep the Election Ship department in line with all other administrative departments.
The results are 35 in favour, 1 opposed, and 8 abstained. The motion is therefore passed.
This successful resolution vote secures a failsafe to ensure the smooth running of elections and resolutions.
Out of our current 85 members, 44 voters is a 51.76% turnout - not too shabby at all!
Our last voted Resolution was actually in May (Resolution 20, Plom 2 administration), and back then we had 25 votes out of 99 registered members; 25.25%. We may be seeing a trend, too - there were some 33 voters in the elections in July.
This is great news for the club, a good sign of our ongoing commitment to democracy. The Administration will be analysing turn-out from the club's RPEs so we can congratulate those COs who have achieved high turn-outs and encourage those COs who might need some pointers on how to make sure their players know about their right to vote.

Alex Verdusco steps down as AJJE Games President
Today, Alex Verdusco formally ended his term as AJJE Games President after four years, passing the torch to Jeannette Giesbrecht.
His final act as our leader was to award the first AJJE Presidential Award to long-term player Jessica McClary. He then made the following farewell address
Ladies, Gentlemen, and Tribbles...
The time has come, and boy was it a long ride. When I started down the road less traveled many years ago, there were many times during my term that I questioned that decision. I could have taken the easier road, the less stressful and time consuming one... but in the end, that isnt my nature.
I am going to speak in metaphor now... as we are all creative writers are we not? As I pack up my desk on the 20th floor of AJJE Games, I look around. The desk itself is massive and costly, made of solid oak. A large set of reference books are lined up against the southern wall, along the northern wall is a sitting area, complete with couches and a fancy globe of the world. The globe slowly rotates, seated gently on the plush carpet. I take a moment to look out the windows onto the downtown area, the sun setting in the distance. I take a deep breath, and lift up the small card board box with the last of my personal items...
Four years ago...
I sit at a card table in an old stuffy basement... its legs are wobbly and there are chips on the surface from one of the last three parties it was used for. Across from me I see Jess sitting on a lumpy old sofa, with her lap top, doing her best to stimulate RPing. Eddie sits on an old milk crate trying his best to manually process the days applications. The floor is pure cement, unpolished at that. There are no windows, no views, no sign that what we are working on will result in anything. I take a deep breath, and plow ahead to the future...
This best says where we were then, and where we are today. Its been a long journey for AJJE Games, but a successful one. We had some smashing successes, and some devastating defeats. We had some great conversations, and some bitter arguements. But overall, I believe the good outweighed the bad.
As I leave office I have no regrets on the path taken. I wish the new Administration the best of luck. I ask that they carry out the history project, as I believe that there are a lot of people and events that should be remembered. I did my best in the last email to name some of them, but there are many more. I also believe that when people know where we have been and how far we have traveled, its not so hard to dream how far we can go. I ask that the next administration continue to stay true to the principles of the founders. With all that said, I am excited on what the future holds.
As of 11:10 am PST on September 30th 2009, I hereby relieve myself as President of AJJE Games. I assign Bert the Tribble as acting President from 11:11am PST to 11:59pm PST. At 12:00am PST, in concert with previous Presidential Orders, I hereby order Jeannette Giesbrect be elevated to the position of President of AJJE Games.
It was fun... I was honored to do what I did... I wish you all luck... and as always... have fun... be creative... and always take the road less traveled.
Alex Verdusco
Former President, AJJE Games
Alex will continue to be involved in AJJE, not only in Server Management, but as CO of USS Independence on SFHQ.

Message Posted by Captain Cheeor-Captain (CO)
Cheeor-Captain toured the lower deck where was still on going. His tail twitched as he strode by engineers connecting cables, placing wall sections in place, or running diagnostics on systems already placed.
He felt a great amount of pleasure at finally having finally gained his richly deserved command. His liver practically ached with his desire to get the menial labors done and finally get under way.
...Eventually he departed the lower decks to once again check that his special fitted chair was being installed properly on the bridge, and to view the especially ordered trophy cases placed in his ready room. He wanted to once again look upon his great-grandsires battle armor, knowing he had finally earned his own.

New VPs announced
Ash Leighton Plom has been appointed VP Anchor Clubs, replacing Lyndsay Jarvis, who left due to RL pressures. Ash has been with AJJE Games since 2006, and has served in the administrations of LOTW and SGU in a variety of capacities, including Parliament Leader of LOTW and Senate Leader of SGU. He has also been an active role-player in RTE and SFHQ. He has been in the senior government of AJJE for awhile, most recently serving as VP Support, and was instrumental in helping bring social media such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter into the AJJE Community. As VP Anchor Clubs, it will be his responsibility to oversee AJJE's three anchor clubs: LOTW, SFHQ and SGU. He will ensure that AJJE guidelines are followed, AJJE policies are enforced, and AJJE standards are met. As well, he'll serve as the first point of contact between other divisions and the Anchor Clubs, and for the Ops and Admin teams of AJJE's anchor clubs. In addition, he will serve as a resource to ensure that smooth transitions are made from one elected administration team to the next and one operation team to the next.
Chris Wilkinson has been appointed as VP Support, replacing Ash Leighton Plom. Chris is another veteran player, who's been with AJJE Games since 2007, and has served as Election Coordinator and Assistant Member Support Director for SGU and as the Council Chair in SFHQ. As VP Support, it will be Chris's job to oversee the departments of Support Services and Public Relations, and to appoint people in those positions. Chris will also be the first point of contact between other divisions and the support-focused departments. In addition, he will create and carry out a general direction for overall support functions of AJJE Games and shall use the departments under his jurisdiction to drive AJJE in that general direction.
Both of these members have shown themselves to be capable administrators, dedicated players and well-deserving of the opportunity to serve in senior government. Please join me in congratulating Ash and Chris in their new positions.

Woo! First Post!
Copied from Aker's Bluff to make sure nobody misses anything.
A little BG/catchup for all you noobies :)
[start of copied post]
Crucion made his way to his room. He lies down in the bed, hands behind his head, slowing down for the first time since before the incidents of the med bay.
"This is what training prepared me for," he thought to himself, "...but it still feels weird. Shooting, and killing a man. A man I was beginning to know. A man I know others cared for," he sighed deeply, then smirked "But hey... it was a good shot.
He started to close his eyes, when he heard the beep of an incoming wave. Audio, but no picture.
"Hello?" he questioned.
"Crucion, I can't believe I finally found you." came the voice on the other end, a voice Crucion hadn't heard since he joined the military.
"Ru, is that you? It's been two years." Crucion responded.
"Yes brother it's me, but you have to listen I don't have much time. I started a shipping company called Star Enterprises. I need you to get to Highgate as soon as possible. There is a ship there called the Nightingale. On board is a shipment that needs to get to Akers Bluff and delivered to a Saloon called the Last Drop. The ships crew has disappeared but I know you can fly the ship well enough to ensure the shipment is made." Ru explained.
"I'm already at Highgate." Crucion told Ru.
"Good I need you to get that ship and get out of there now. Once you get to Akers Bluff, Sam will have an envelope for you with payment and maybe even more..." Ru stopped as another voice came over a comm system "Captain, they've found us." "Gos se! I've got to go." Ru said then the transmission went silent.
The rim of the verse is.... insane! he thought. A moment of quiet, never a moment of quiet.
...and now, his brother giving him the keys to a ship. This was the icing on the cake.
I have to go, he argued with himself inside his head, But they need me on board, he crunched his brow, But this is family. It's personal.
That was it. He got up from the bed, and packed his possessions back into his duffel bag, with the auto on top for easy access. He checked his pockets, both pistols were there - and back to full power. He swung the bag over his shoulder, and left the room.
Overhearing Charles in the Med Bay, he went down to tell him the news.
"Charles," Crucion called from the hallway outside the bay, "I need to talk to you."
"I got a wave from my brother," he spoke fast, "I haven’t heard from him in two years, and I think he's in danger."
"He has his own company, ships and all, and one is here for me - empty. I've got enough piloting skills to get it where he wants me to get it, and I guess I will see from there."
"...I'm leaving..."
[end of copied post]
He sprinted through the highgate docks, as he rushed to find "The Nightingale." It only took a few minutes; Crucion's tastes were very similar to his brothers.
She is a majestic bird, one of the newest, prettiest, but also weirdest looking ships at the docks. She is in a coat of glossed black paint with detailing in lavender and a very smoky gray.
The paint makes her the black dot on a white canvas, but out in the black of the rim she could squeeze by most of the sensor-less ships without notice.
Crucion types in a code to open the door - his childhood pet-dog's birth date - and entered the ship.
He sat down at the controls, they were very complicated, but the basics were the basics. After obtaining permission to launch, he takes her off the ground, and into the black.
She is as smooth as can be, and quite fast as well. A decent mechanic or two, and she'd be the best ship this side of the core.
The sequence of events played out over, and over again in Crucion's mind. had he done the right thing he questioned himself, at the hypnotic num of the ships engine.
A light on the panel flashed, he was there. Already. Highgate to Aker's Bluff, that fast?
Whatever. No time to think about the ship. He had to finish the job. His brother was on the line.
He got off the ship and stepped onto the oh-so-familiar surface he'd been on less then a month ago.
He jogged into the last drop, practically kicking down the door, and sat down at the bar.
"Sam...I....Nightingale...Shipment..." he spat out, breathing hard.
Eddie Cramer becomes SL of Harry Potter Sim
With the loss of our SL in the Harry Potter sim we the Elders of the Council discussed our options. It was decided that since I, Edgar Cramer, was one of the founding members of the Harry Potter sim here at RTE it would be best if I stepped in and took over as SL.
So with that said it is with great prid that we the Council of Elders name Edgar Cramer the new SL of the Harry Potter game.

Nicholas Palmer becomes Head of The Triple Zero
While it is long overdue, I've actually been trying to get this launched for a few months, it is with great pride that we the Council of Elders are able to introduce the first second sim for a genre in RTE. This sim is The Triple Zero and it will be part of the Star Wars Genre.
As this is a new Sim we the council debate for a week on who we felt would be the best person to take the position of SL for this sim. So without any further delay we the Council of Elders are proud to promote Nicholas Palmer to the rank of Sim Leader in RTE and place him as the SL of The Triple Zero.
Congratulations Nicholas, make us proud.

Argos looking for players
I'm currently looking for more players. I only have six and present and while I have a healthy rating, I feel that we need more players to sustain this vessel in the long term.
We're currently at the beginning of a new mission, to a human world with a medieval level of technology. It seems a war is about to break out on the planet between two rival powers.
So, if you're interested, please email me via SGU.

New Sims for Ride The Edge
However, two new sims have been appeared.
1. The Mallard Club- A sim set in 1903, in a London private members' club.
2. The Triple Zero- Part of the new Star Wars section, where the popular Order 66 has now been moved. This is an expansion that sim, based on a starship travelling from Coruscant (galactic coordinates 000).
Dane Bower becomes Colonel in SGU
You all thought we were done didn't you? Not so! We have one more to go then, sadly, we are done.
This last person is someone that has been around just about as long as I, Anna and several other people in SGU have been around. It's almost like he's an institution! In his time here he's been a Team Leader, a member of Military Command and even has done his service over in the Administration side of the house both in the Technical Department and even the Senate. It seems that everyone knows him.
In addition I've had the pleasure of Role Playing with him before and I've always been impressed by his ability to draw out the nuances of a character. They are always very believable and the names themselves are just simply fantastic.
In case anyone who hasn't realized, the individual I'm speaking of is Dane Bower. This promotion in particular is something special because not only have those of us in the Military Command taken a bit of notice, his commanding officer Megan Schultz has as well. In all truth though, and I'm ashamed to admit it, but this promotion is long over due and for that I'm sorry for the delay, but I am happy to correct the situation.
So, without further adieu....
It is my pleasure, my honor and done with pride that I promote Dane Bower to the rank of Colonel with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with the position.
Congratulations Dane!

The armorer tinkered with the auto shotgun in front of him. *this should be the last thing to getting ready for everyone to come back from R&R.* The well-oiled barrel reflected the overhead light and the click of the inserted clip was very satisfying. XYZ put the gun lovingly in its rack slot and surveyed his domain. All was in readiness yet again for another season of the dogs of war. *It is the iron of men's souls that is tried in the furnace, but they will not lack for anything I can make ready, garner or clap together for them!* He put his trusty wrench back down, and was ready to recieve requests. "Ahhhhh. .. " He sighed and left the ship armory heading to his quarters and meditation. ., .

Message Posted by Brigadier General Nathan Hall (BC)
Nathen stepped down as the gate closed, 'this is home for now' he thought looking across the field at the large group of medal sheds.
General Hall looked at the two guards who were now removing their hands from the SAW's pointing at him and snapped to attention. 'Sloppy' the General thought or it seemed that way.
"As you were" he said snapping back a salute. Dressed up in field attire he look like a picture strait out of world war II. He hated his daily uniform and much preferred combat gear, aside from the fact that the base was very much exposed and did not want to stand out too clearly from the other officers.
He had expected Alexandria or John to meet him at the gate, but perhaps they were busy which was not a bad thing. They had come a few week earlier to help secure the area for the the construction group while they set up the sheds. Slinging his P90 over his shoulder, he stepped toward the small shinning town and made his way for HQ.
William Smith becomes Colonel in SGU
Appointment #57
I like this Appointment a day system I have going. It makes each day interesting and leaves you all on pins and needles. Why? Because you're wondering, who is next?
Next on our list is someone who again, has contributed to SGU in more ways than one. Most notably is his work in the Member Support Department. Let's be honest, without him we wouldn't have new members processed and new blood in our system. More than that though, Will has showed a willingness to help out as much as he is able. While sometimes he wishes he can do more, the amount that he does has caught the eye of Military Command.
Frequently when I ask the others in Military Command about who is who in SGU, Will Smith's name is always mentioned. As a GM, from what I understand, he's top-notch, keeping both the team and his Team Leader impressed and entertained. His passion for the game is also shown in his willingness to participate in the discussions we hold in Military Command while also keeping us entertained with his unique comments.
So, without further adieu, it is with pride, honor and respect that I promote William Smith to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with the position.
Congratulations Will, well deserved.

Megan Schulz becomes Colonel in SGU
It's another day, which means another Appointment to be. I, in my own way, take certain people under my wing. While I'm never overt about it, I find myself thinking that a particular person has a bright future here within our club and I start to watch over them carefully. Helping them when and if they wish it, gently pointing them toward the possibilities if they are willing to take it. This next particular individual is someone who I consider not just a friend, but someone that I have watched for that particular interest.
When I first met Megan she was a bit shy, unsure of herself to a degree, but willing to give everything a shot. Her eagerness to try has impressed many people, myself included. Probably her most significant trait that would be first on my list is her honesty about her own capabilities. While I do believe that she's still young and has a bit to go before she really comes into her full potential, I am eager to watch it happen.
In her time here in SGU she has been my executive officer when I was the Commander of Atlantis Beta Site, then later stepped into my shoes as Commander. Since taking on the position, she has made it her own with techniques to help bolster it's placement in the RPEs as a place to play. Additionally are her contributions to SGU as a whole. First as her role as Technical Support Director and now as her role as our Senate Leader for her second term.
She has taken everything she has learned not just from those of us in Military Command, but what she's seen in the workings of AJJE Games proper to use it to her best advantage. More so, she understands the uncertainty that comes with taking on new positions and new projects. That has allowed her to reach out and give a confident boost to those who need it, and allow her to see that just because someone may not be well known any more, they still have potential. Best yet, she's still willing to listen to advice.
In light of all these traits, these contributions and in the spirit of her continued growth, Military Command has decided to promote Megan to the next highest rank.
So, it is with pride, honor and respect that I promote Megan Schultz to the rank of Colonel with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with the position.
Congratulations Megan, very well deserved.

Gemma Holden becomes Colonel in SGU
Well, since I'm on a roll and the whole gang started doing the rain dance a month or so ago, calling for the raining of promotions I must obey for that is my primary duty!
This next individual has been with us in SGU for almost as long as Anna and I, her presence filling the halls of Atlantis with a quiet urging that sometimes goes unnoticed. While real life took her away from the group of Military Commanders, we take solace in knowing that she is still working with us, commenting and letting us know that while she can't work with us as much as she would like, she is still here.
I've known Gemma for most of the time she's been here and in that time I've developed a respect for that quiet method of hers to direct and help. She encourages in her own unique way and her dedication to her team knows no bounds. This particular promotion has been a long time coming in light of the fact that it has been a considerable time since her last one. Her performance has always been above the call of duty, even when life has been difficult for her, forcing her to go to a library just so she can post.
So it is with pride, honor and pleasure that I promote Gemma Holden to the rank of Colonel with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with the promotion.
Congratulations Gemma!

Chris Wilkinson promoted to SGU Colonel
They say that revenge is a dish best served cold and honestly I have to agree. In a way this next Appointment is a form of revenge, not just from me but from Ash and Anna as well, who didn't know or realize that if they wished to blame anyone for their recent promotions that it can be evenly divided between myself and Chris Wilkinson. Since they will unlikely be able to put forth their revenge on their own I am compelled to do it for them, with their full approval of course.
When I first met Chris he reminded me a lot of Ash in his enthusiasm and drive. He approaches everything with an enthusiasm that you can't help but be caught up by. He pursues his goals with a determination that requires extreme persuasion to divert him from his course, if only temporarily. Of all the members of Military Command I would have to say that Chris is the person who keep us informed of those that should be singled out.
His dedication to the club is unrivaled as he is more than happy to help out not just those of us in Military Command when life is too busy for us, but also in the Administration area whether it's for the New Member Processing or as the current Election Coordinator.
While he may believe that he doesn't deserve this promotion, fortunately for the rest of us, the people that believe otherwise out number him.
So it is with great pleasure, pride and honor that I promote Chris Wilkinson to the rank of Colonel with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with the rank.
Congratulations Chris, it is well deserved.

Ash Plom promoted to Colonel in SGU
It's interesting to learn how we all want or even need to give out accolades. We each have our own way of accomplishing the task. Some of us give out awards, pin a medal on a chest. Others of us simply nominate the individuals for positions and then there are those that are like me, I simply wax lyrical.
I'd like to do so again. When I first met Ash Plom he came across as brash, excitable and eager to please. His heart was in the right place and he knew where he thought things should be. He uses his passion not only to do what is right, but to be good to everyone as well as he can to motivate, inspire and encourage.
In the two years since I got to really know him, he's tempered himself a little bit, but only in his approach. Yet despite that I know I can always count on him to show me the other side of the situation, to point out what I have missed. His advice is something I count on not just here in SGU, but also in life in general.
Additionally is his dedication to his team, he's always trying to do what is right for them and keeps them equally motivated. He tries his hardest and is usually rewarded by the right step forward.
So while I am content to merely wax lyrical, I acknowledge that there is more I can give and more that the other members of Military Command wish to bestow. With that said it is my extreme honor, pleasure and done with pride that I promote Ash Plom to the rank of Colonel with all the rights and privileges that come with the rank.
I know he will bear them proudly and continue to be a source of inspiration for all of us in every aspect of his involvement.
Congratulations Ash

Anna-Lyn Signey becomes a Brigadier General
You know, I've been looking at the previous appointments and I couldn't help but notice a few things of interest. The first how they are written out. If anyone has the chance to read them, they should because it's interesting to see how I go from straight, to the point with very little elaboration to now when I tend to be very cheeky to borrow a phrase from our British counter-parts.
Another thing that I noticed is that while when SGU started we did have several General's...there is only one left. This of course is completely unacceptable...meaning I feel alone, distant from everyone.
So I had a thought, why not change it? Of course it happened after one of my fellow Military Commanders suggested the very same thing. Funny how that works. Fortunately for me, the other member of Military Command also agreed enthusiastically so now the will shall be done.
Anna-Lyn Signey has been, as mentioned before, with us since the beginning. She's seen the good, the bad and the so-so times. I finally managed to get her in Military Command with us after asking her for what felt like a million times. Glowing from that success (and with the knowledge that I'm no longer alone!), it is my pleasure, my honor and something I do with pride, promote Anna-Lyn to Bridgader General.
With this promotion she gets all the rights, the privileges and the honor of automatic promotions for the next three years at the time every year.
In addition to this, I am also appointing Anna to be my official successor as Operations Leader in the event that something might happen to me that would force me away from SGU.
Congratulations Anna it is very well deserved!

First Post: Inn of the Wayward Traveller
Liam walked over the rugged, snow capped montain and looked at his new bar. He slowly approached i and when he got to the main, twenty feet high double doors, he spoke in a booming voice "Inn of the Wayward Traveler, I am the Grandmaster Liam Christopher Connolly. I invoke by the powers of the gods of the multiverse for you to open the doors to all" The doors rumbled slightly as they slowly swung open. The six foot eight, three hundred pound innkeeper walked in and looked around. "Light" he stated and all the lights in the inn flickered to life. He saw a mirror and looked at himself. With brown hair and hazel eyes, Liam knew that he he looked like he could be trusted to give advice.
He found a plaque and mounted his grandfather's greatsword on it. He put this plaque on the wall and commanded "rise" so that the plaque was above the bar where no one could get it exept him. He then tested the spells that made sure mages and the sorts could not cast any attack spells.

Kevin Diamond becomes Support Services Director
It is my distinct pleasure to appoint Kevin Diamond to the post of Support Services Director. Kevin joined AJJE Games in January, and has been expanding his character base across multiple sims and clubs, contributing in government discussions, and generally adding to the standard of excellence with his own genuine brilliance. From designing ship deck plans to enhancing MOTDs to refining initiatives in the government pages, he has displayed a range of skills which will certainly add to the fine work outgoing SSD Angela Austin achieved on such initiatives as the Community Pages hub. Angela's input won't be forgotten, and I am confident Kevin will build great things on the foundations already in place.

First Post: An occasional series
Admiral Jeff Price sat in the command chair of the USS Independence for the first time. The bridge was dark, and most of the stations were hibernating. He glanced out the large viewport and watched the various engineering pods over about the saucer section of the bridge. He took one long swivel in his chair. There was absolutely no one on this bridge, but he silently knew this would change, in a matter of hours.
" Computer," Price said slowly, " Transfer command codes to Admiral Jeff Price, authorization Gamma One Four."
The computer chirped an acknowledgement.
" The USS Independence is now under the command of Admiral Jeff Price," the computer called out.

Ash Plom re-elected as LOTW Parliament Leader: Acceptance Speech
My immediate order of business after that will be the Club Awards system, which is to be implimented by order of AJJE's President, Alex Verdusco. We'll be discussing the hows and whats later this month, and I'll appoint someone to draft a proposal setting out how it's going to work. I have a number of other Resolutions planned for voting, including one giving the TSD powers to approve or decline character images for the 'photo' ID thing based on criteria other than the ToS.
Before all that, though, let me offer something of an acceptance speech. On the 1st of November, 2008, I offered as my personal prayer for the Plom II administration a verse from the Apostle Paul's epistle to the Romans.
"Whoever has the gift of encouraging others should encourage. Whoever has the gift of giving to others should give freely. Anyone who has the gift of being a leader should try hard when he leads. Whoever has the gift of showing mercy to others should do so with joy."
I believe the admin team consistently encouraged and empowered the club members. I believe the admin team were joined by other lovely members in giving their time and energies freely to this awesome club. I believe the Member Support Director, the Technical Support Director, and the Cortex Lounge Moderators not only tried hard when they led, but they excelled as well.
I hope I will be found to have been a merciful PL.
For the Plom III administration, I pray this:
"Be joyful always!" (1 Thessalonians 5:16)
This club is here for our enjoyment, and we're going to keep on enjoying it, and making it all it can be.
Peace to you all,

Just wanted to let you all know what's going on with the Leviathan in my capacity as Flag officer for Fleet Three.
I've given until the 22nd of July for any interested candidate to come forward(and yes our intrepid aCO is among those candidates).
So you will have your new CO officially installed before the end of this month, but in the meantime, I've given John permission to recruit new members and the like and otherwise keep this ship running.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to direct them to my e-mail at kdedul@gmail.com, I'll be happy to answer them.
For now, let's just have some fun. :)

Server Management Division created
Effective July 1st 2009, I hereby create the Server Management division of ajjegames.com. This division will operate independently from AJJE Games proper. The main function of this division will to take over several functions that are currently performed by the AJJE Webmaster Director. These functions include managing the domain and sub domain index pages, space management, server backups, FTP access, mail forwards, maintainance, PARS, and general webhosting issues.
I will serve as the head of the Server Management division in the role of Senior Webmaster. I am lucky to have Alexius Pendragon also come aboard as a Webmaster in this new division. Alexius has assisted me prior to this during past injection code attacks. He has a wealth of knowledge and I look forward to what he will bring to the table.
The short term goal of this division is to distinguish and organize functions it will be handling, as well as create the tools neccesary for AJJE Games to maintain local behind the scenes functions independent of Server Management. Long term goals will include the automating of key maintaince functions as well as any other future tasks requested by the President Elect.
Server Management will reside on the below address http://www.ajjegames.com/servermanagement/ and any other future developments will be displayed in the "Current News" section.

All Good Things Must Come To End... Alex Verdusco to step down as AJJE President
On October 1st 2005 I became the first president of AJJE Games... and since then it has been a wild ride.
For almost four years I have watched as AJJE grew from one roleplaying club to four. I have watched as our player count increased from thirty players to well over two hundred. And I have watched as people all over the globe came together to form a community around this thing we call AJJE Games. There were good times, and challenging times, but overall, we came out okay in the end. I also firmly believe that AJJE Games has a long and fruitful journey ahead of it, and I would love to be at the helm of it for many years to come. However... I also believe its my most important role as the first president of AJJE Games is to establish precedents. A blue print if you will for the future.
And that is why, I will set the precedent that an AJJE Games President shall only serve a single four year term.
Therefore, effective October 1st 2009, I will be stepping down as the President of AJJE Games. In order to establish a smooth transition, I will also establish the precedent that the President Elect shall transition into the Presidency over the final three months of the current Presidential term. The President Elect will begin to take over management of the day to day operations during this time period, as well as install her team of Vice Presidents.
With that said, it is with great pleasure that I announce Jeannette Geisbrecht will be taking on the role as President Elect. Jeannette has been with AJJE Games since late 2006. Jeannette has served as a previous Vice President of Operations, and more recently as Vice President of Development. During her tenure as VP of Development she personally drove the transition of RTE from Martial Law to a full fledged club.
It was a challenging task, but I think everyone will say she came out of it with high marks. I believe under Jeannette's leadership, we will see a different style and approach then my own, and I am looking forward to the outcome.
As my last act as President, I will be creating a set of Guiding Principles for AJJE Games as a whole. These principles will set in stone some of the basic framework and policies that are currently in use by the AJJE Games government today. It will have a large section focused on the operations of the AJJE Games Senior Leadership, a section mandating the continuance of core AJJE programs, particulars of a license agreement between myself and AJJE Games for the use of PARS, and the establishment of a Board of Founders that will be the equivalent to a Board of Directors for a corporation. I believe a solid framework will not only smooth the operations of future presidential terms, but also set the bar for them as well.
In conclusion, even though some parts of my four year term were unbearingly challenging, I have no regrets, and would do it all over again. I still remember late night chats with Jessica McClary and Edgar Cramer about SFHQ, as we dared to dream it up. I still remember the awe as the clubs grew into an entity all their own. We have come a long way since then, but I believe the core principles are still strong and true.
So I hope to have everyone's support during the transition and you will hear from me again!

SGU Elections
The time to pick your club leaders has come again. Get involved! Nominations have started in the Election Ship, and once those are over there will be time to ask questions to help you decide which people you want running your club. So get your nominations in while they're being allowed, and prepare your questions for the people who accept the nominations. A proper election can only happen with the proper involvement.

Lyndsay Jarvis becomes VP Anchor Clubs
This week I accepted the resignation of Jessica McClary from the position of Vice President of Anchor Clubs. As many of you know, Jessica, as well as an original founder, has served in AJJE Games in numerous positions, including Vice President of Operations, and Vice President of Administration. In all the positions she has held, Jessica has carried herself with grace and earned respect from those that have worked with her. I am happy to report Jessica will continue to have input on the direction of AJJE Games in a new capacity in the months to come.
I am also happy to report that effective immediately Lyndsay Jarvis will be assuming the role of Vice President of Anchor Clubs. Lyndsay joined AJJE Games in 2007 and currently serves as an operational leader in LOTW. She previously served on the Administration side of LOTW as Election Coordinator, presiding over mulitple General Elections. As Operational Leader she works with the COs of multiple sims on a daily basis and as Election Coordinator she has earned a reputation as being even handed, logical, and always prompt.
On behalf of everyone in the Senior Leadership, I welcome Lyndsay to the Vice President position, and thank Jessica for assisting us in a smooth transition.
